Register a Birth

You can pre-register the birth online. It should take around 10 minutes.
To complete the registration, the parent(s) or guardian(s) must then visit the Registration Department to sign the birth register in person.
Information you need for pre-registering a birth online
You should know:

child’s place and date of the birth

child’s first name, middle names, last name and sex

parents’ first names, middle names, last names and current address(es)

any previous names the mother has been known by
-
whether the parents were married to each other at the time the child was born

whether the father wants to be named on the official records

parents’ National Identity number (or passport number for foreign nationals)

parents’ occupations

how many certified copies of the birth certificate you would like to buy
